Rajat Mourya is the founder of Bahujan Sahitya, a powerful platform committed to spreading the writings and thoughts of revolutionary Bahujan leaders, especially Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He is the first Ambedkarite from his family, and his journey began in a small village in Madhya Pradesh, shaped by struggle, questioning, and an unwavering sense of purpose.
Rajat started working while still in the 6th standard, distributing newspapers in Nagpur. That humble beginning sparked a lifelong journey of hard work and awareness. After accumulating over eight years of experience in sales and marketing across various companies, he came to understand a deeper truth—that beyond professional struggles, there exists a larger, systemic discrimination rooted in caste. Like many Dalits, Rajat faced this discrimination in schools, colleges, and workplaces. Initially unaware of its cause, he found clarity and consciousness in the writings of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Baba Saheb’s vision changed everything for Rajat. He began to question the world around him, and more importantly, he found answers. He realised that the foundation of any true transformation begins with education, awareness, and assertion. He also understood that we must not only read our leaders but also carry forward their message. This led him to launch the Bahujan Sahitya YouTube channel in March 2020, with the goal of making Bahujan literature accessible to the masses.
In 2024, Rajat launched a second channel, TheRajatMourya, focused on sharing the real stories of the Bahujan community, especially those from Scheduled Castes and followers of the Buddha Dhamma. Through this platform, he aims to highlight the cultural, historical, and spiritual dimensions of Buddhism, often ignored or distorted in the mainstream.
Over the past 6–7 years, Rajat has deeply reflected on the current state of the Ambedkarite movement. He observes that much of the discourse has been reduced to debates around caste and reservation, while Baba Saheb's larger revolutionary vision of creating a new, just social order has been sidelined. Very few are working on this deeper transformation, and those who are often struggle alone, facing powerful and well-organised Brahmanical forces without adequate support.
Rajat’s mission is clear: to revive and reassert the original vision of Baba Saheb Ambedkar—not just as a fight for rights, but as a project of societal reconstruction. As Baba Saheb said, "Fraternity is another name for religion," not in a ritualistic or sectarian sense, but in the sense of universal brotherhood and human solidarity. That is why Baba Saheb embraced Buddha’s Dhamma—a path based on reason, compassion, and justice. To truly honour his legacy, we must rebuild society on the principles of Dhamma, where liberty, equality, and fraternity are not just constitutional ideals but lived realities.
